A significant change to nominees travelling on other carriers means that marital status will no longer be relevant.
With effect from 01 October 12, nominated parents/brothers/sisters and a *travel companion of serving or former staff with a legal spouse or a civil/partner will be able to travel providing the airline agreement includes any of these categories of nominee. Previously this applied to staff of single status only. For details refer to the Former Staff FAQs option on the home page of the my.baplc.com website and enter ‘What other airlines can serving and former staff travel on’?
Update: The site for arranging travel on other carriers will currently not allow staff of married status or who have a partner to arrange bookings for the above nominees. This is currently being worked and it is planned that a fix will be place shortly. If, in the meantime, tickets are required for imminent travel, contact staff travel for the booking to be made and tickets issued.
The oneworld offer for parents continues to apply as before.
* with the exception of travel between London Heathrow and Madrid on Iberia and the BA/Qantas joint service routes (see below), a nominated travel companion must be accompanied by the staff member when travelling on other carriers.
