British Airways this week took delivery of a B787 Dreamliner flight simulator and a B787 flat panel trainer in advance of the first of the radical new aircraft joining the airline’s fleet next year.

The simulator was delivered to TBA (Technical Block A), where it joined the nearly fully assembled A380 simulator which arrived last week.

Its arrival marked the end of a marathon journey, which included a sea voyage from the Canadian city of Montreal to Rotterdam in the Netherlands and then Southampton before being loaded onto a flatbed trailer for its road trip to TBA.

Mike Burtenshaw, manager Flight Training said: “This month’s arrivals mark a significant milestone as they are the first of BA821s simulators to be installed in the newly refurbished west end of TBA as part of a long-term plan to relocate all of the training facilities from Cranebank to a remodelled, state-of-the-art facility across both TBA and TBC over the next 18 months
