British Airways’ head of Heathrow customer service, Vicki O’Brien has been recognised in the UK’s first ever ‘Timewise Jobs Power Part Time List’, published in today’s Financial Times, which names 50 people who work less than five days a week but at the top of their field.

The list, compiled by Timewise Jobs, a jobs website dedicated to part-time and flexible roles, challenges the perception that part-time roles are only on a low paid, low skilled basis.

Alongside O’Brien in the list are senior managers, directors and CEOs from some of the UK’s top companies including Marks & Spencer, IBM and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Members of the public voted for people for potential inclusion in the list, which was then reduced to a top 50 by a panel of four judges.

O’Brien said: “I am very flattered to be included in the list.

“With more than 10,000 colleagues on some form of part-time contract, British Airways really supports flexible working opportunities.

“The nature of our global, 24/7 business demand has in part shaped our innovative and forward-thinking approach to working hours. I think this is just one of the reasons that makes British Airways one of the best places in the UK in which to begin and grow a brilliant career.”
