It is with regret that we announce the death of Dr Christopher Rawll on 18th October at the grand old age of 82.

A Service of Remembrance  will be held for Dr Rawll, who was a Senior Medical Consultant with BA for over 25 years,  on Saturday 1st December 2012 at midday at All Saints Church  Margaret Street  in central London (5 minutes walk north of Oxford Street).

The full address is 7 Margaret Street, London W1W 8JG , and further details can be found at www.allsaintsmargaretstreet.org.uk .

The following is a tribute from Dr Rawll’s nephew Andrew…

Despite failing health over the last 5 years, he remained the same lovely, intelligent, mischievous, independent yet deeply caring man right until the very end.

He remained at his Cavendish Court Richmond flat until early October, when even he felt it was time to move to an environment where others could care for him, after so many years of serving others.

He died peacefully, dignified and pain-free with his family around him.

I had the good fortune and privilege of spending time with him and know that he loved hearing from old friends, colleagues and acquaintances from his long and fulfilled life.

I am pleased to tell you that he was able to enjoy his birthday in August in good spirits and appreciated all the correspondence he received, although he recognised that he was not the most prolific or legible correspondent himself.

Thankfully, the final chapter of his life was short. He was comfortable, lucid and great company right up until the final 48 hours.

His funeral took place on Monday 29th October at Mortlake Crematorium in Richmond.

For those of you that were unable to attend, due to the short notice, we have now arranged a service of remembrance at All Saints Church where Christopher dedicated so much of his time after his retirement. You will be very welcome.

I’m very happy to correspond further with those that knew him and can be reached at andy@rawll.com.
