British Airways was named Favourite Short-haul Airline in the Telegraph Travel Awards last night.

The awards, voted for by 17,000 Telegraph readers, are much prized in the industry because they represent the views of people who actually fly on the airlines concerned.

BA’s director of external communications Paul Marston picked up the award from the TV presenter Clive Anderson at a gala dinner for 300 at the ME Hotel in London.

Singapore Airlines received the award for Favourite Long-haul Airline.
