IAG Group traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres was up by 0.3 per cent last month versus December 2011.
On a like-for-like basis – ie. not taking into account traffic arising from the acquisition of bmi – traffic was down 2.1 per cent.
Group capacity measured in Available Seat Kilometres was down 0.4 per cent (down 3.5 per cent on a like-for-like basis).
Group passenger load factor was up by 0.5 points versus December 2011 (up 1.1 per cent on a like-for-like basis)
Group premium traffic was up by 4.6 per cent against last year and non-premium traffic was down 0.4 per cent.
In the same period, British Airways’ traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres was up 3.9 per cent (up 0.4 per cent on a like-for-like basis), while Iberia’s was down 8.4 per cent (see table below for more details).
IAG said in a statement: “There is continued firmness in trends at British Airways and weakness in Spanish markets as in the previous months.”
