British Airways will start running daily services to Shanghai from March 31.

The increase from six to seven flights a week follows BA’s decision to extend its network to China with a new three-times a week route to Chengdu starting from September 22.

Jamie Cassidy, BA’s general manager for the Middle East and Asia Pacific, said: “I’m delighted we are offering a daily service to Shanghai.

“The city is an important route for our customers, especially those doing business there.

“This extra service will allow both countries to strengthen their economic ties and demonstrates the importance of China to BA and our commitment to growing our presence there.”
