British Airways teamed up with the model Georgia May Jagger, fashion label PPQ and Langham Hotels to celebrate exciting new service updates on its Sydney route.

From this month, customers will travel on board a brand new 777-300ER aircraft, which boasts all the latest cabin updates.

In addition, the Australian service will now fly into Terminal 5, a move that means Australian customers will be able to enjoy smoother connections with BA’s European network, as well as access to award-winning lounges and more than 100 retail and dining options.

“I’m always happy to support British Airways,” said Georgia May Jagger. “I love coming to Australia and thanks to British Airways’ fantastic style and service the journey from the UK was a joy.”

The launch event was held in the award-winning Club World cabin, where guests were treated to a taste of the new ‘Tiffin at The Langham’ afternoon tea.

Featuring a selection of afternoon tea treats, and served in true Langham Sydney style, the Tiffin continues the timeless British tradition of high tea, and was served on board an aircraft for the first time.

The aisles were transformed into catwalks as guests also enjoyed a fashion show from Percy Parker, co-founder of London-based label PPQ.

Models showcased the looks from PPQ’s autumn/winter 2013 collection, Bizarre Bazaar, which was most recently seen at London Fashion Week.

“I was very excited to be approached by British Airways to take part in this event as it is a great marriage between British heritage and the energy of modern UK,” said Parker. “It was great to showcase our autumn/winter collection as our first ever show in Australia, and to do so on board a British Airways plane just made it even more special.”

Nicole Backo, BA’s regional general manager, South-West Pacific, said: “Today was a fantastic event, and it was wonderful to share this unique and quintessentially British experience with all of our guests.

“British Airways is incredibly proud of our heritage here in Australia and with these new changes coming into effect we are very excited about our new customer proposition.”
