Following hot on the heels of recent route launches to Sri Lanka, Tenerife and Lanzarote, British Airways will begin flying to the sunny Spanish island of Gran Canaria later this year.
The weekly service, offering Heathrow’s only flights to the popular holiday hotspot, will begin on October 26 – just in time for winter sun worshippers during the school half term break.
Andrew Crawley, British Airways’ chief commercial officer, said: “Gran Canaria is a fantastic destination for holiday makers, especially families, with over a half a million people from Britain visiting every year.
“We are confident that offering the only direct route from Heathrow, and the award winning Terminal 5, to Gran Canaria will prove popular with our customers.”
