British Airways last night won a Marketing Week Engage award in the ‘Travel and Leisure’ category for the London 2012 Games home advantage campaign.
The airline beat off tough competition in the category which included easyjet, visit Britain, First Choice and Nike, to take the top prize. The airline had also been shortlisted in five other categories and received a number of commendations for its achievement with Park Live.
The prestigious awards were hosted by comic Graham Norton who joked that British Airways even brands its inflatable life jackets in his opening speech.
Abigail Comber, head of marketing, collected the accolade on behalf of the airline and said: “Congratulations to the team for scooping yet another award.”
The airline recently took home two coveted Sports Industry Awards for its work in relation to the London 2012 Games.
