British Airways is to play a prominent role in the BBC Two series Airport Live, which is being broadcast this summer. Presented by Dan Snow, Dallas Campbell and Anita Rani, the series of four live programmes takes a look behind the scenes of Heathrow to explain how the world’s busiest international airport caters for millions of travellers every month.

Our engineers, painters, turnround managers, tug drivers and pilots will be featured in the programmes scheduled across four nights from Monday June 17 – Thursday June 20. The filming of pre-recorded material for these programmes is already underway.

The programmes focus on how Heathrow operates effectively every single day, and highlights the work carried out by employees who work in vital non-customer facing roles, with the aim of highlighting the skill and professionalism behind their jobs.

British Airways colleagues will be shown explaining how aircraft are painted and maintained, how pilots are trained, and how an aircraft turnround is conducted.
