Internationally-renowned actor Orlando Bloom is set to make a special appearance at an event in Sydney celebrating British Airways’ latest service enhancements on the route.

The event will take place in Sydney in late May and further details will be released in the coming weeks.

Orlando Bloom said: “I’m happy to be working with British Airways on the launch of their Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from Sydney and look forward to attending their celebratory event in May.

“As someone who flies regularly, I love nothing more than to kick back and relax and enjoy the great amenities and service British Airways First class has to offer.”

Nicole Backo, BA’s regional general manager, south-west Pacific said: “As a symbol of quintessential British style, glamour and elegance, Orlando Bloom represents what British Airways is all about as a premium, full-service airline.

“We are looking forward to Orlando making a special appearance at our customer event in Sydney and continuing to be a great ambassador for our London-Sydney route.

“British Airways is incredibly proud of our heritage in Australia and we are very excited about the recent changes that we have made to the service which will better serve the needs of our valued customers in Australia.”

As of April 2013, all passengers travelling between Sydney and London will enjoy the benefits of flying in the latest aircraft in the BA fleet boasting all the latest cabin formats.

In addition, Australian services will now fly into Terminal 5, the airline’s award-winning home at Heathrow, allowing passengers easy and convenient onward connections to BA’s extensive European and UK networks.
