British Airways-sponsored Justin Rose has won the US Open Golf Championship by two points from Phil Mickelson and Jason Day.
He becomes the first Englishman since Tony Jacklin in 1970 to win the title. He was pushed all the way by the experienced Mickelson who has now come second in this tournament six times. The weather was also unpredictable at times.

It is the first time Rose – who was born in South Africa but grew up in Hampshire – has won one of golf’s major titles.

BA started its three-year partnership with the golfer, who wears a BA logo on his collar when playing in tournaments, in April.
