With effect from 1 July 2013, British Airways Engineering and Iberia Maintenance will jointly provide customers with maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

Teams from the two companies have been evaluating options as to how their commercial engineering activities can be most effectively coordinated in the future.

As a result, the two Engineering leadership teams have agreed to establish a Joint Commercial Organisation (JCO), which will facilitate a closer working relationship with the aim of delivering increased revenue and synergy benefits.

The JCO will provide a central focus and manage the profitability of all commercial engineering activity undertaken by both operating companies. From a BA perspective, the JCO team will continue to report to James Murray-Smith as part of the Material Services and Commercial department.
