Keith Williams is to take on the role of chairman and chief executive of British Airways in changes announced today by parent company, IAG.
BA’s current non-executive chairman, Sir Martin Broughton, remains deputy chairman and senior independent director of IAG but is standing down as chairman of BA’s Board.
There will be similar moves at Iberia with non-executive chairman Antonio Vázquez leaving the Iberia Board to continue to focus on his role as chairman of IAG. Luis Gallego will take on the role of chairman and chief executive at Iberia.
Both Keith Williams and Luis Gallego will leave the IAG Board when they take on their new roles in January next year. They will both continue to report into IAG chief executive Willie Walsh.
