To support the growing demand from customers to stay connected wherever they are, British Airways is running a wifi trial on one Boeing 747-400 aircraft, offering streaming media and live TV directly to customers’ own personal devices.
The trial has been tailored to offer a full suite of functionality, including movies, TV and products, chosen to provide the service our customers expect from BA. This is part of BA’s investment of more than £5 billion worldwide in new aircraft, smarter cabins, improved lounges and new technologies to make life more comfortable in the air and on the ground.

Customers on board will be able to browse internet content and view selected websites for free. Through live TV, they will also be able to keep up with the latest sporting events, business updates or world news. If they choose, they can pay a fee to buy internet access for either one hour or the duration of flight, offering further opportunities to access their device.

The system used as part of the trial provides a high, fast bandwidth, offering customers the best and fastest connection.
