The BA364, an A319, from Heathrow to Lyon suffered a number two engine failure on take-off last night.
The flight experienced an ‘engine surge’ as it took off from Heathrow, but it returned and touched down safely.
Crew looked after customers and kept them informed.
Customers who were on the flight were offered hotel accommodation and they have been re-booked to fly today (March 7). BA has also scheduled a larger aircraft to operate to Lyon to ensure all customers get there as soon as possible.
The aircraft is being thoroughly checked over by engineers.
