British Airways has agreed with Gatwick Airport Limited (GAL) in principle to move its operations to the South Terminal. It is anticipated that the move will take place in November 2016.

The move was agreed after establishing that the terminal move works for both British Airways and GAL, and that further investment will be made in the South Terminal facilities including a new check-in and lounge for BA.

Lynne Embleton, Director of Strategy and Gatwick, said: “A move to a new home is an opportunity to take a fresh look at the experience we offer our customers and our own processes.

“We will be establishing a programme team to ensure a smooth transfer and we will make sure our customers and colleagues are in the forefront of planning.”
