British Airways will continue to amend its flying schedule this week to and from Rome Fiumicino Airport as a result of a serious fire at the airport last Wednesday evening.
The fire has partially closed Terminal 3, where BA’s flights operate from and the airline has limited check-in desks and there is no lounge area for premium customers.
Given the reduced facilities for all airlines normally based in Terminal 3, carriers have been requested to reduce their schedules by 30 per cent up to and including Thursday May 14.
Further assessments regarding flights later in the week will be made during the coming days.
BA has introduced a more flexible rebooking policy for customers who are due to fly to/from Rome up until Thursday May 14. Customers can rebook their flights to a later date, departing up to May 20.
Customers can also change their ticket to depart/arrive from any other airport in Italy. Customers will be liable for the expense of any ground transport arrangements between Rome and the other airport, if they decide to take up this option
