Kai Burman has been awarded a DCOM’s Commendation in the New Year’s Honours list for his services as an RAF reservist.
By day, Kai is a Network Flight Planner for British Airways, but he dedicates much of his spare time to his role as an air traffic controller with 600 Squadron based at RAF Northolt, near London.
The award was in recognition of his hard work and diligence.
He said; “I was very surprised and humbled to have this award when there are so many worthy recipients out there. Its gives recognition for the hard work all members of the Armed Forces Reservists have been doing this year and they will no doubt be called on to do in the years ahead.
“I pay particular tribute to our Service colleagues currently serving in flood defence activities around the United Kingdom.”
And Captain Martin Bromiley has received an OBE in recognition of the Clinical Human Factors Group (www.chfg.org), a charitable trust designed to help the promotion of human factors understanding in healthcare which he set up in 2007.
