British Airways launched its new route to the San Jose, California. The daily flights from Heathrow to Silicon Valley started on May 4.
Stephen Humphreys, British Airways’ head of global sales, said: “We’re really excited about our new route from Heathrow to San Jose, California. It’s a great opportunity to bring together two dynamic cities, renowned for their tech industries and start-ups. Equally, it’s an ideal gateway to California and the scenic Pacific Coast Highway.”
The first flight pulled onto its stand waving the stars and stripes, while customers checking-in for the return first flight to Heathrow were greeted by a massive balloon palace guard, complete with bearskin.
The crew who operated the inaugural flights to and from San Jose were hand-picked by the Mixed Fleet leadership team as recognition for their brilliant all round performance and commitment to excellent service to customers.
And keeping wih tradition Cabin Crew who served customers on the first flight were all presented with certificates to commemorate their premier service, while the inaugural inbound crew were also suitably recognised.
