The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the US has issued new guidelines to airlines about carrying Samsung Galaxy Note7 phones on board aircraft to, from and within the United States and Canada. Hong Kong has now also banned the devices.
From October 15 customers who own or possess a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device cannot transport the device on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked in baggage on flights to, from or within the United States and Canada. The phones cannot be shipped as air-cargo either.
Any customer arriving at the airport for travel today or tomorrow October 15 and 16 with a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be offered the chance to rebook their flight to the same destination over the next five days.
The information pages on ba.com have been updated to reflect the latest information from the FAA.
